DJ Ron

Hi Everyone, I'm Ron "The Paisan" Serafin. My show is simply, "It's Ron's Oldies and Doo Wop Show. I've grown up listening to oldies and doo wops, and I absolutely love the music. My parents, aunts & uncles all are big fans of the music. I have memories of my Grandmother singing "Poison Ivy" by the Coasters. She loved that song.

 

I have a good collection of music that I'm looking forward to sharing with you all. I'm a Brooklyn boy, now living in Bethlehem, PA with my family. I enjoy the music, have listened to it forever. I did almost four years with HGRNJ.org playing oldies, and, it's been the time of my life. Looking forward to being part of the Doo Wop Cafe family, getting to know you all and sharing great music as well. I listened to WCBS-FM in NY for many years, and various other oldies show and stations. Always felt that I had great music, as the radio stations played the same stuff over and over.

 

I have a load of my Dad's 45's and 78's. Have put many of those onto CD, so it's easier to play on the air, especially since we didn't have a turntable to play 78's at the old station. Also have plenty of music on CD, it's been fun getting all these great tunes over the years. All I can say is this will be a fun experience to be part of the Doo Wop Cafe, to play to people that enjoy the tunes, that are into the music. Also, will be glad to be doing my part to keep oldies and doo wops alive, as the commercial radio stations have pretty much left this great music behind. That to me is the biggest crime, this is the music that laid the groundwork for the stuff that is out today. These are the people that have made it happen, that put rock-n-roll on the map. So let's do our part to keep it alive!
