"How To" instructions for the Java Chatroom

1. First thing is to be sure your computer has JAVA installed.  This can be checked by going to the CONTROL PANEL  and looking for an icon that looks like a cup of coffee.
2. If your computer does NOT have java,it can be downloaded free at: http://www.java .com or  http://www.sun.com
3. Download the free java to your desktop and install it.
4. Now to get into Doowopcafe chat room:  
    In your address bar of your browser type this:    http://www.doowopcafe.net/chat
    Click ENTER and then click on the link for the Java Chatroom on the page that appears.
5.  The java applet should open and start to load.  Allow the applet to load fully !!!
     The Doowopcafe chat room should then start to load.  Allow the chat room to load fully !!!
     When you see the chatters names on the right side , the chat room should be loaded.
     You will be in chat as the default name   DOOWOPLOVER
6.  There will be an area at the bottom of the chat room in which you can start to type.
     In that area type this to change your id/name : /nick  (skip a space ) and then type the name you want to use.
     If it don't accept your id/name , try adding a number(s) to your id/name.
     When done it should look like this : /nick yourname  ...  then press ENTER.
7.   Be sure to add the chat room to your favorites or bookmarks , so you can find the chat room  the next time you want to come to chat.  Happy Chatting !!!
