I
was born and raised in eastern Iowa. My father had an orchestra "or band" --
depending on the gig and my mother played the piano; so there was a
lot of music in my life. Mom and I would go to many of Dad's gigs if
they were close to home, and I loved watching people enjoy music.
Mom always had the kitchen radio on and seems like music was playing 24/7 in our home. So even though I am a "boomer", I was exposed to jazz, blues, dixieland and all the hits of the 40's and 50's while growing up.
Living along the Mississippi river, boating and fishing were a big part of my early years. I've always loved the outdoors and hunting and fishing were always near the top of my favorite things. I worked as a journeyman bricklayer, then as a Masonry Contractor (builder). After destroying my back, went into real estate sales, before moving to SW Florida 10 years ago ~~ now semi-retired.
Many of you correspond with my wife, Siena. She's the typer in our house (I'm a two-finger picker). Siena likes some of this music, but still leans toward hard and soft classic rock; some motown. The love of music and traveling are two of the things we have always enjoyed together...
Dj'ing here is interesting and fun and I recommend that any of you with a few spare hours a week, give it a try
