I grew up during the 50's and 60's in western Pa. and I had
access to a lot of good music. I listened to dj's like Porky Chedwick with his
R&B, Mad Mike played many uptempo (hard to find doowop tunes) and
Terry Lee with mellow doowop ballads.
Also
in the early 50's I listened to Jay Michael and Barry Kaye as well as late night
radio including Randy's Record Shop on WLAC Nashville and George Lorenz (the
hound) out of Buffalo, NY.
I started my record collection as a teenager and I still have
most of my original 45's but then I duplicated most with CDs. I usually play a
variety of doowop, r&b, r&r, blues. A mixed bag to be
certain.
It's great fun spinning my tunes for all my listeners out
there in radio land. Keep tuning in to DWCR (doowop cafe radio) and listen to
all the excellent dj's and the many different styles as they play the songs of
your life.
